Broughshane Primary School is an ECO school and has been since 1996 when it was asked by Mr. Frank Jackson at the ECOS Centre in Ballymena to enter an environmental competition.
The competition was sponsored by the Tidy Britain Group and Going For Green. The school was awarded an ECO flag for entering. We have been assessed for our environmental work every year since. All projects have been looked at by the assessors and records kept. Then in 2006 we were awarded permanent Green Flag status.
